Meet Portage.
Public engagement for government, in your own Microsoft tenant.

What is Portage?
Portage is a public engagement platform for governments and public bodies across Canada. Residents take part in surveys, polls, ideas, discussions and events on a bilingual, accessible public site. Staff plan, moderate, update followers and report results from one place. It runs in the customer's own Microsoft tenant, hosted in Canada, in English and French.
Why we built it
Most governments already run on Microsoft. Their staff sign in with Entra ID, their records sit in Microsoft Dataverse and their security teams watch Microsoft Sentinel. Public engagement often sits outside all of that, in a separate subscription with separate sign-in, separate audit and participant data held by a vendor. Portage brings engagement inside the tenant the organization already governs.
What is in it
- Engagement site. Surveys, polls, ideas, discussions and events in English and French, on your own domain.
- Plan and approve. Initiatives with dates, departments and templates, and an optional second-person approval the server enforces.
- Moderation. Review before or after posts appear, with keyword holds, spam and bot flags, and a reason on every decision.
- Communications. Bilingual updates to people who chose to follow, sent through your own Exchange Online, with consent and one-click unsubscribe.
- Results and reporting. Live dashboards, exports to Excel, CSV and JSON, and Power BI on the same data.
- Integrations and migration. Connections to the sign-in, records and reporting systems you already use, and past engagements moved from your current platform and checked count by count.
Built on Microsoft Power Platform and Azure
Portage installs into a Microsoft Dataverse environment as a managed solution, with the Portage Studio staff app, six staff security roles and a Power Pages public site. Staff sign in with Entra ID single sign-on. Audit flows to Microsoft Sentinel and Purview, and the long-term audit export is kept in Azure Storage with keys in Key Vault.
How to start
Every implementation starts with the engagement site. Teams add planning, moderation, communications, reporting, integrations or migration as they need them. Implementation is quoted to your scope, and Microsoft licences and optional services are quoted upfront.
